The Masks...

Have you ever thought about the 'masks' you've been putting on every single day of your life? I mean just to think about it, I'm bemused by the fact that all of us have different sets of masks in our closets. Now, does that mean we are not really who we appear to be? Are we more interested to be seen as the persons whom we appear to be, when in reality we are not?

I'd say that I have this obsession to know more about myself because at times I'm confused of who I really am. Why do I have the feelings that I'm so different than people around me? Why can't I start a conversation easily? Why do I hate to be in crowded places? Why do I like to be alone? There are many other questions in my head...Are these inborn personality traits? or Am I like this because that's the way I was being brought up? Blame it on the environment? Am I the one who mould my own personality in order to be seen as being different than the rest? To find out more answers to these mind boggling questions, I've tried to delve deeper to find out more about my own personality.

There are many personality tests I've taken so far. Let me share some information about the types of personality test available online for you to try. The big five personality traits are the most commonly used model of personality in academic psychology. It is the general consensus in academic psychology that there are five fundamental personality traits. These 5 traits are completely independent and all other personality traits will be correlated with one or more of the big 5. The five factors are openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism (OCEAN).

It is also interesting to see how people link one's personality with the date of birth, year of birth, month of birth, name, physical features, etc.

You need to know yourself better so as to find out your strengths and weaknesses. Sometimes just knowing your weakness can become your ultimate strength in life. Think about it...
