MUET SPEAKING TEST PROCEDURE



MUET SPEAKING (800/2)
Test Procedure
Each group of four candidates is assessed by two examiners. Candidates do not get to choose their group members.

Task A- Individual Presentation
Ø  Candidates enter the examination room together.
Ø  Each candidate is given a question paper and writing paper for jotting notes.
Ø  Candidates are given two minutes to read the situation given and prepare for Task A, by making notes.
Ø  After two minutes, Candidate A starts giving his views on the situation and topic given while the rest of the candidates listen to Candidate A and take down notes for the group interaction in Task B.
Ø  Each candidate will speak in turn for two minutes.
Ø  Task A ends.


Task B- Group Interaction
Ø  Candidates are again given two minutes to prepare for the group interaction.
Ø  They read the task, which will be given on the same question paper, and jot down notes.
Ø  When the two minutes are up, the candidates will be told to start their discussion.
Ø  Any one of the candidates can begin the discussion.
Ø  Each candidate should contribute substantially towards the discussion, in order to generate a lively, informative discussion.
Ø  After ten minutes, the examiners will ask the candidates to stop their discussion.
Ø  Task B ends.
